...Those are not just cliffs Dave, I am working on whole terrain displacements (vector displacement mimic)...I am very close to nailing it..
I started with 5 000 000 polys which was very hard to manage on my pc (but it looked good)..Now I managed to go down a little below a milion polys with pretty good details...Thats lower then 1024x1024 standard terrain and it renders very very fast..
Beyond these hills is an infinite plane with default texture on it ..Contrast might be a little strong but it was on purpose.. I am working on some cliffs for C3D store and this is just a material test..I think, to strong highlight(spec) value make that strong contrast...I´ll fix that..I upgraded to vue 10 infinite (vue 9.5 xstream never worked well as a plugin so now it´s vue 10 infinite) two weeks ago and there is a lot of settings from 9.5 that needs to be adjusted to work properly
That reminds me - e-on Software gave me a limited time opportunity to upgrade from Vue 7 to Vue 10 for a massive $400 off the normal cost Too bad my laptop, which is all I have - has a hard enough tome handling Vue 7. Normally I'd take that deal in a heartbeat, but I'm stuck on a machine that probably wouldn't even run Vue 10 Infinite
Lol, default textures - can't remember the last time I used one without at least some modifying it
